How it works

How the courses work

Question bank

MRCEM Primary · MRCEM SBA (Intermediate) · FRCEM Final SBA

Each question presents a clinical scenario with five options, one of which is the single best answer. Once you choose an option, you see which answers are correct and incorrect, with an explanation for every option, followed by additional information and links to resources for further learning.

OSCE scenarios

MRCEM OSCE · FRCEM Final OSCE

This course is not a question bank. Each OSCE scenario takes you through a station as it runs in the exam: the scenario you are given, how the marks are distributed across the assessed domains, a full transcript of the conversation between the candidate and the actor(s), what the examiner expects to see, and a topic summary with key pearls.

Spotters

DNB Emergency Medicine

Each spotter or OSCE question gives you a short scenario, with or without a picture. Write your answer in the answer box and submit it to see the correct answer and its explanation, then mark how you did.

Topic explanations

Critical Appraisal & EBM

This course is not a question bank. Each topic explains a critical appraisal concept in detail, from evidence-based medicine and study design to statistics, bias and the step-by-step appraisal of a research paper.
